What we correct
Material factual errors, misidentified sources, incorrect dates, mathematical errors, misleading omissions, broken evidence links, and headlines that do not accurately reflect the article.
How changes appear
Minor spelling or formatting fixes may be made silently. Material corrections receive a visible note describing what changed and when. Developing stories may receive an update note when later evidence changes the understanding without making the original report erroneous.
What a request must include
A disagreement with an interpretation is reviewed, but it is not automatically a factual correction. Provide the primary document or attributable evidence that supports the proposed change.
