How Parcel & Key builds a defensible answer

Our source hierarchy, calculation rules, review cycle, uncertainty treatment, and professional boundaries.

01

Primary-source first

Time-sensitive claims begin with legislation, regulators, government program pages, official professional bodies, and original issuer documents. Secondary sources can help discover a question, but they do not silently replace an available authority.

  • Record the exact source URL and access date.
  • Separate statutory rules from planning assumptions.
  • Show update and next-review dates on the public page.
02

Versioned calculations

Calculator logic is isolated from interface code and carries a rule version. Currency arithmetic is normalized to cents for statutory brackets. Tests cover every threshold, threshold minus and plus one dollar, and published government examples where available.

03

Uncertainty is an output

Property-specific decisions often depend on information no public calculator has. We show inputs, ranges, omitted cases, and the question that a lawyer, notary, broker, insurer, inspector, engineer, accountant, or municipality must answer.

04

Review cycle

Rules are reviewed quarterly and when a budget, regulator, court, program administrator, or professional body announces a material change. A stale rule is removed from production rather than left behind a disclaimer.

Commercial boundary

No provider paid to appear on this page. Parcel & Key does not accept legal referral fees or paid real-estate-agent leads. Future partner links will be labelled beside the action and activated only after written approval.
